Who is Bancha?
My name is Bancha, I'm your Tired Tanuki CURSED with humanity, and I thank you for taking the time to read this.You may have seen me or some of my friends talking about an upcoming Donothon for my teeth, and I'd like to take a minute more of your time to explain exactly why this is needed. This is going to sound like a sob story, but I have been told to be transparent about my life a bit, and not just go "well it's okay", so here it is:Growing up poor, dental hygiene and dentist visits were a bit of an afterthought to life. When I was in kindergarten, my mom was diagnosed with primary biliary cirrhosis, an autoimmune liver disease that was caught late, and at the time, was fatal. She lived until I was in 7th grade (while also getting cancer, she was a trooper), and so unfortunately medical visits became an "Only in emergency situations" thing. This lead to poor dental health as my adult teeth came in, alongside depression.When my wisdom teeth came in, they came in impacted and were pressing into the back molars, and putting additional pressure on the rest of my (already fragile) teeth. This lead to overall dental fragility that over the years, despite being an adult and understanding dental health being more important, lead to teeth cracking, breaking, or falling out. This overall dental pain & collapse lead to my self confidence taking an incredible hit over the years, difficulty eating, and potentially played a massive part in my heart issues over the years.After losing my job a couple of years ago, I had continued to try to get government assisted health insurance, and finally got it a few months ago! However, this health insurance does not cover Dental, and the procedure that my dentist is suggesting is outside of any additional coverage. The post below this will showcase exactly what the procedure will require, but with this procedure I will be essentially getting a fresh start at a healthier lifestyle, as well as being able to confidently smile for the first time since I was a kid. The amount of daily pain, especially while talking or trying to eat, cannot be understated. This has lead to a big part of why I've been unable to stream as much as I'd like, which should ALSO be resolved with this procedure.Right now, I can't eat most things - most fruits and vegetables, hard foods, anything crunchy, anything like that is just off the table. I soak my breakfast cereal to make it soft enough to eat. I don't want to live like this anymore, being cautious of every meal, and I need your help.The amount of money required is not a small number, and truthfully, I'm not sure we can hit it or anywhere near it. I've done my best to come up with interesting and fun incentives, alongside my community and my fellow PositiVT members. I hope that you have fun in our streams, the raid train streams, and just..thank you for even reading this. The idea of not having mouth pain is such a hope. And if you're unable to help financially, spending time in these streams or sharing the fundraiser when it's live is a huge help, and I thank you for that too.

He's the tired tanuki, cursed with humanity who works at Keep it Reel, a video rental store in the nearby town of Faraway!Thanks to the very conditions we're fundraising for, Bancha hasn't been able to stream much himself; but has instead used his time to help others. If we've had a big event, collaboration, charity, or fundraiser, Bancha has been behind the scenes organizing it. Almost every Kudoboard in the last three years has been organized by him. Bancha has spent so much of his own time uplifting and helping others, and now it's our turn to give back, to help him achieve the most important surgery of his life.
